Hi everyone! I'm here to share a Christmas gift that I made for a co-worker back in December. She loves shoes and designer bags, and knew that Heartfelt Creations All Glammed Up would be the PERFECT collection to create an explosion box for her.
I ended up not getting a video walk through of all the different tags, flaps, etc - BUT, here's some quick photos before she took it home.
In addition to the All Glammed Up paper collection, I used black cardstock, shoe and bag buttons, and resin flowers from Hobby Lobby, Chipboard, and various trims, flowers and other embellishments I had in my stash.
The outer layer is a pocket with a 5x5 tag for photos and/or journaling.
The center layer features and belly band with a tag insert on the topside, and an open embellished area for photos or notes on the backside.
The innermost (smallest) layer features an open area for photos or journaling on the top side, and a layered journaling card mini "layout" on the back for framing smaller photos or journaling.
The centerpiece consists of a mirror I had in my stash from a LONG time ago, a shoe that I embellished with a small black bow button the back side and stuffed flowers and beaded trim on the inside. I embellished around the shoe with tulle and flowers.
Thanks for looking!!
See you soon!

It's shaping up!!!
Hi everyone!
I've been busy around here getting my blog and other social medias a much needed face-lift! I'm just about done with those finishing touches and now moving on to the next fun task list - planning a re-opening party!!
I've been busy planning some talented guests, prizes and more so don't forget to come back here and check out the plans. I'm finalizing a schedule of sorts and should have something posted here in the next week.
I'm shooting for an April opening, but once I nail down the details, I'll be back with a specific date as well as the schedule. This will be a week long event and I'm excited to have you join me!
It's back to the design board for me, so I'll be back later on with another project share while you wait!
Hugs,
Mellisa

Parisian Mini Album
This album was actually made twice. Once for sale, and the second was gifted for Christmas because she TOTALLY fell in love with the first.
This album features the Julie Nutting "Belle Vie" collection and is still available for purchase at A Cherry on Top
Enjoy the video!
Cheers,
Mellisa

Updates and Upcoming!
Hi everyone! After I wrapped up my DT projects for J&S Hobbies and crafts last year, I took a long hiatus from crafty online media. I still created, however I kinda of stepped away from all the "schedules" and just had some fun and spent time with my family.
I'm not going to say that time has slowed for me, actually, it may have just gotten busier!! I'm expecting my second child in June and I also work full time. Keeping busy is always healthy and beneficial fro me, however in keeping up with work, home, hubby, kids and more, I'm finding I just need to take time out to be creative and to share those outlets to hopefully inspire some of the rest of us crafty girls. No matter how busy, we must take a minute just for us.
That being said, over the next week or so, I'm going to share some projects that I've completed in the past year for (hopefully!) some inspiration. During that time, I'm doing a bit of re-branding and focusing a little more on my hobby and turning it into a bit of a business. In addition, I want to be sure to not just share what I have created, or promote sales, etc - I want to inspire. My goal for this year is to share my creations, as well as put a spotlight on products, manufacturers, other creators, and You Tubers that I have been inspired by.
So, enjoy the upcoming posts and please excuse my dust while I give my little corner of the web and my business a bit of a 'face-lift'. When I'm finished, I'm planning on some giveaways and other fun spotlights and I hope you will hang in there with me!
Cheers,
Mellisa

It's February - ALREADY!! Where does the time go?
I'm here to share my latest DT project for J&S Hobbies and Crafts. I gotta tell you, the past couple months of getting my DT packages, I get more and more excited everytime! I absolutely love the items I receive and I feel like they actually pay attention to the kind of projects, papers, styles, etc that I enjoy and it really helps and pushes me creatively to use those items to create little paper confections!
This month, I received the newer collection by Heartfelt Creations; Coffee Talk. Man was I STOKED! When this paper collection came out, I wanted it in my hands! I love coffee and always (and I mean always) have a cup of coffee within reach - all day every day! So this first project is near and dear to my heart. I'll be displaying this somewhere that I will see it daily.
Using the following supplies, I created a printer's tray. I love how this turned out. The papers speak for themselves I think and don't need much embellishment.
- Coffee Talk paper pad by Heartfelt Creations
- Tim Holtz - Timepieces
- Prima Evita-Eva - butterflies
- Prima Butterfly - flowers (Chenille)

January DT Project - J&S Hobbies and Crafts - Part 2
For my second project this month, I created a mini album using the supplies we were sent and it worked out perfectly as I had a client requesting a small mini album in a vintage style paper. She requested a "simple" album, nothing too complicated, something small that she could add some photos and the viewer would be able navigate easily without missing photos, flaps, etc.
In my package for January, I received and used the following supplies:
- Heartfelt Creations - Antiquity paper pad
- Prima Softees collection - Bonnet (lollipop flowers)
- pearl trim
I didn't receive these dies in my DT package, however they are available on the J&S website:
- Heartfelt Creations - Birds and Blooms die
- Heartfelt Creations - Birds and Blooms stamp
- Spellbinders - edge die (the particular one I used is no longer available in the shop)
the rest of the supplies and trims were in my stash.
Enjoy these photos and video! Thanks for stopping by!

January DT project for J&S Hobbies and Crafts! - part 1
Hi all! This month, I created two different projects for J&S Hobbies and Crafts
We were given Designs by Shellie's new resin windows and doors to work with and were requested to use them in our project. I originally had thought to make a box shaped as a house with a mini album inside, but decided against it as I wasn't yet complete when some of the other designers started posting their projects and they were houses. I wanted to do something different that would show the versatility of the resin pieces....SO....
I decided it was time to decorate the cover of my art journal! The window and door pieces worked well with my use of the art journal as I use it to "create out" my stresses, emotions, etc. This is a journal I've never yet shared any of my creations in as - well, to me they are personal and the "window to my soul". What better way to decorate the cover then to use Shellie's doors and windows?!
Once I decided on my project, I watched some YT videos on this style of art - there are some great artists out there that can do wonders with paints and other mediums. I dove right in and actually surprised myself with how this came out and was VERY happy with it!
Here are some photos and as always a video.
