Supplies used:
- Beauty in Blues paper pad - Designs by Shellie
- Wagon Wheels (resin) - Designs by Shellie
- Prima butterflies
- Paper Blooms - Kaisercraft
- Flat back pearls

other embellishments you see here were random items I had in my stash.

Junque Gypsy Suitcase Album

Hello everyone! I'm here to my latest project, a suitcase album! I can't take credit for the original design, this was created following (with a few changes and adjustments of my own) Shellie Geigle's GORGEOUS suitcase mini album tutorial.
You can find the tutorial here: Shellie's tutorial - Part 1 (it is a total of 4 parts)
If you would like to follow along exactly, here is a list of supplies Shellie used in her tutorial: Supply Lists (just scroll down the page until you find the suitcase mini album list

In my suitcase album, I used Marion Smith's Junque Gypsy paper collection and an assortment of embellishments and trims I had in my stash.

Here are a few photos. For a look at the complete album and walk through, watch the video below! As you will see, this album is quite large and can hold a TON of photos, journaling and other keepsakes.

The wait is OVER!!!!

I'm so excited!! I made the J&S Hobbies and Crafts Design Team for 2015-2016!! I was so surprised. I kept telling myself not to get too excited and in convincing myself it would be ok, I was pleasantly surprised to get my acceptance !!

So now, I wait for my first DT package!

In the meantime, I wanted to share the original project I had created for Round 2 that I didn't send in. Here's a link to the walk through, and if you watch, I point out the different areas where I made mistakes, etc that just didn't make me satisfied :) I don't know about you, but crafting - even after years, I still make mistakes and not think things through. It's a continued learning experience!

Here's the video. Enjoy!

J&S Design Team call Round 2 submissions

Hi everyone! I'm back to share my projects for the J&S Hobbies and Crafts Design Team Call. This is the second (and final) round. We were to create a project using the supplies provided and then mail them in for review. I've already mailed off my package. I ended up creating multiple projects with the materials provided as my original idea wasn't up to par in my opinion, but I'll be back to share that later...

The supplies that were sent to me:
- Designs by Shellie - Tranquil Gardens 12x12 paper pad (SQUEEEE!!)
- Designs by Shellie - Resin Oval Frame (pearl)
- Petaloo Butterflies (DIY Paintables)
- Kaisercraft Paper Blooms (Lavender)
- spool of light green ribbon

You can watch a quick show of the products I received in this haul video (if you don't want to watch it all, fast forward to 29 min mark for the DT package)

So, because I had originally created a mini album that just wasn't "good enough" in my opinion to send off, I needed to come up with another project using the leftovers that I had. I decided to create some fun little altered paper bags. I've made these before, and they are so fun and quick to make. I usually create these and then use them for sending swaps, raks, etc. I created 3 different bags and also created a fun little tag with a note to Shellie and the Team.

Here's some photos:

Now - the waiting begins!! I know there are some awesome designs from other contestants, so they will have their hands full deciding and I hope I get the chance!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I made the first round!!

Just popping in real quick to share that I made the first round for J&S Hobbies and Crafts Design Team call!! I'm SO excited!

If you haven't yet visited their website, you got to! They carry a variety of papers, embellishments and tools and carry two of my favorite product lines; Graphic 45 and (new to me) Heartfelt Creations!!
Also, Shellie has started her own paper and embellishment line; Designs by Shellie. She has a STUNNING paper collection; Tranquil Gardens that has some beautiful purple, blue and green hues that just scream mini album and cards!

Visit Shellie's YouTube channel and Facebook page, she has some gorgeous tutorials that are free to the public. They are SO easy to follow and create beautiful albums.

So now, I'm just waiting for my package to arrive from J&S for the second round. They are sending product for us to make a project for Round 2 - so stay tuned for my project!

Thanks for stopping by!

Kit and Kadoodle Call!!

Now honestly? I'm sure there are many other ladies out there who would be much more "qualified" than myself to enter Laura's call, however I could not help myself when I saw her blog post. To be on a team with her would be awesome! I love Laura's paper creations, I just don't understand how she can get those from her brain onto paper and design, but she is a genius! If you would be interested in apply,  you can get all the details here: Kit and Kadoodle Crew Call

In any case, I decided to apply - you have to start somewhere right? Here's some of my submissions....wish me luck!!

First, this is an art palette that I altered, on it my YouTube name. I used alot of different products on this one including Prima color bloom, flowers, items from Epiphany collection, Petaloo flowers, Tim Holtz metal embellishments and much more. I had alot of fun layering paste,  paint, sprays and stamps for the base, then layering different bits of papers and embellishments.

This is a tag I originally made for a Swirlydoo's challenge. I  LOVED playing with inks and paper layers with this one. I used some scraps of Steampunk Debutante as well as Bo Bunny(don't remember the name of the collection), the tag base is old G45 packaging.

This is an OLD project, that I would love to redo again if I can find Laura's pattern O.o. She debuted this suitcase back in 2012 CHA and I just LOVED the idea. It opens to house an album and also a calendar in a very unique way.

Thanks for looking!
