For my second project this month, I created a mini album using the supplies we were sent and it worked out perfectly as I had a client requesting a small mini album in a vintage style paper. She requested a "simple" album, nothing too complicated, something small that she could add some photos and the viewer would be able navigate easily without missing photos, flaps, etc.
In my package for January, I received and used the following supplies:
- Heartfelt Creations - Antiquity paper pad
- Prima Softees collection - Bonnet (lollipop flowers)
- pearl trim
I didn't receive these dies in my DT package, however they are available on the J&S website:
- Heartfelt Creations - Birds and Blooms die
- Heartfelt Creations - Birds and Blooms stamp
- Spellbinders - edge die (the particular one I used is no longer available in the shop)
the rest of the supplies and trims were in my stash.
Enjoy these photos and video! Thanks for stopping by!

January DT project for J&S Hobbies and Crafts! - part 1
Hi all! This month, I created two different projects for J&S Hobbies and Crafts
We were given Designs by Shellie's new resin windows and doors to work with and were requested to use them in our project. I originally had thought to make a box shaped as a house with a mini album inside, but decided against it as I wasn't yet complete when some of the other designers started posting their projects and they were houses. I wanted to do something different that would show the versatility of the resin pieces....SO....
I decided it was time to decorate the cover of my art journal! The window and door pieces worked well with my use of the art journal as I use it to "create out" my stresses, emotions, etc. This is a journal I've never yet shared any of my creations in as - well, to me they are personal and the "window to my soul". What better way to decorate the cover then to use Shellie's doors and windows?!
Once I decided on my project, I watched some YT videos on this style of art - there are some great artists out there that can do wonders with paints and other mediums. I dove right in and actually surprised myself with how this came out and was VERY happy with it!
Here are some photos and as always a video.

Junque Gypsy Suitcase Album
Hello everyone! I'm here to my latest project, a suitcase album! I can't take credit for the original design, this was created following (with a few changes and adjustments of my own) Shellie Geigle's GORGEOUS suitcase mini album tutorial.
You can find the tutorial here: Shellie's tutorial - Part 1 (it is a total of 4 parts)
If you would like to follow along exactly, here is a list of supplies Shellie used in her tutorial: Supply Lists (just scroll down the page until you find the suitcase mini album list
In my suitcase album, I used Marion Smith's Junque Gypsy paper collection and an assortment of embellishments and trims I had in my stash.
Here are a few photos. For a look at the complete album and walk through, watch the video below! As you will see, this album is quite large and can hold a TON of photos, journaling and other keepsakes.

The wait is OVER!!!!
I'm so excited!! I made the J&S Hobbies and Crafts Design Team for 2015-2016!! I was so surprised. I kept telling myself not to get too excited and in convincing myself it would be ok, I was pleasantly surprised to get my acceptance !!
So now, I wait for my first DT package!
In the meantime, I wanted to share the original project I had created for Round 2 that I didn't send in. Here's a link to the walk through, and if you watch, I point out the different areas where I made mistakes, etc that just didn't make me satisfied :) I don't know about you, but crafting - even after years, I still make mistakes and not think things through. It's a continued learning experience!
Here's the video. Enjoy!

J&S Design Team call Round 2 submissions
Hi everyone! I'm back to share my projects for the J&S Hobbies and Crafts Design Team Call. This is the second (and final) round. We were to create a project using the supplies provided and then mail them in for review. I've already mailed off my package. I ended up creating multiple projects with the materials provided as my original idea wasn't up to par in my opinion, but I'll be back to share that later...
The supplies that were sent to me:
- Designs by Shellie - Tranquil Gardens 12x12 paper pad (SQUEEEE!!)
- Designs by Shellie - Resin Oval Frame (pearl)
- Petaloo Butterflies (DIY Paintables)
- Kaisercraft Paper Blooms (Lavender)
- spool of light green ribbon
You can watch a quick show of the products I received in this haul video (if you don't want to watch it all, fast forward to 29 min mark for the DT package)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4PeoWaJbos
So, because I had originally created a mini album that just wasn't "good enough" in my opinion to send off, I needed to come up with another project using the leftovers that I had. I decided to create some fun little altered paper bags. I've made these before, and they are so fun and quick to make. I usually create these and then use them for sending swaps, raks, etc. I created 3 different bags and also created a fun little tag with a note to Shellie and the Team.
Here's some photos:
Now - the waiting begins!! I know there are some awesome designs from other contestants, so they will have their hands full deciding and I hope I get the chance!!
Thanks for stopping by!
